I've been involved with self-protection training all my life, both unarmed
and with weapons. My background, outside of the Filipino Martial Arts, includes Shotokan Karate, Western Boxing
(under Marco Ruas, later to become a UFC champion) and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
In the field of firearms and shooting,
I'm a National Rifle Association certified instructor in the disciplines of Pistol, Rifle, Shotgun and Personal Protection.
Back in '91, I graduated from Mas Ayoob's Lethal Force Institute (LFI I, II and III), and have taken courses from Dr.
Arthur Kobetz' Executive Protection Institute. I've made a living both teaching defensive shooting and working executive/VIP
protection in one of the world's toughest cities - Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Among the performers and businessmen whose security
I was in charge of, during visits to that country: Jean-Claude Van Damme, Rod Steward, Robert Plant, Jimmy Page, Bon Jovi,
Inner Circle, Damian Marley, Boy George, Mr. Samuel Johnson (Johnson Wax), and others.
